Building Local Food Resilience Beyond Covid-19

Massive thank you to Food Power (Sustain UK). Our application for Building Local Food Resilience Beyond Covid-19 has been successful. We are really excited to work with our local farmers & producers to create a bank of local-based resources, incl videos of local farmers & their produce, recipes, and easy access to purchase local produce including linking with our website & Open Food Network.

Food Academy – We are Hiring! – Tutor/Lecturer

To help The Larder develop and deliver our accredited Employability Skills and Hospitality courses. We are really excited to be adding these new accredited courses to our well established Food Academy here at The Larder.

A passion for sustainable food, and working in the Preston community is essential. This role can grow with you, and is perfect for someone who is happy to teach both face-to-face and online.

Salary is negotiable depending upon experience and qualifications, in line with industry pay scales.

Summer 2020 – Kids In The Kitchen

We are really excited to welcome back our Kids in The Kitchen! 

It is fantastic to be back working with Community Gateway delivering ingredients kits to 20 local families each week, to get families cooking and eating together, developing new skills and trying new foods.
You need to be eligible for free school meals and live in Preston to apply for the free ingredients kits.

Food Card

June 14th 2020

We are working on a proposal for a food card/code that will give people on low incomes access to affordable local produce. This is a big piece of work working with food poverty and local food economies.

Team Larder Needs You!

We are really pleased to announce we are expanding our outside catering provision, with the purchase of a local catering business.
Initially we need support in our cafe and cooked meal provision for the vulnerable, as well as looking forward to exciting possibilities and making a real difference, supporting sustainable food and local people.

The Big Lunch

We have spent today packing a massive 64 bags of ingredients to be delivered to Community Gateway tenants. Each bag has ingredients to cook & create homemade delicious pizzas for all the family, complete with recipe cards & our online video – lets celebrate the Big Virtual Lunch !
